The Less Intelligent More Likely To Accept Astrology As Scientific

Finally, a comprehensive study to prove that.....er.... I'd rather let the data speaks for itself.

From the graph above, we can see that the level of acceptance of astrology as science drops as the level of intelligence increases. In other/ coarser word, the dumber a person is, the more likely he or she would accept astrology as science.

Modern astronomy stemmed from astrology, which is a cross-cultural enterprise which emerges in distinctive and unrelated civilizations. Ancient astrology could affect the livelihood of an entire kingdom. And most of us, like philosophers and astrologers before us, experience awe and wonderment when we look skyward at night. On first blush the idea that the stars may have something to do with the fates doesn’t seem ludicrous.

Organized religion has also played a role in this skepticism. In particular, the Abrahamic religions, which evolved in an environment of competition with late antique ‘astral religion.’ But this is obviously not always the case. Most forms of Hinduism are steeped in astrology as very much a valid and utilitarian enterprise. And in any case the campaigns by Christianity and Islam against astrology has often been fitful and futile.
