又是大摇的季节了~
说实在的，有发觉到今年看大摇的同辈朋友们越来越少了，一个接一个的被时间，工作绑住，我觉得在老鸟席年纪最大的应该是我了。
这也代表，连续出席大摇最多年的也是我吗？（是的）呜呜呜~
今年呢，想要换个format 来写， 就是想到什么就写什么。

大摇 2016
身为老鸟，我每年都对大摇充满期待
毕竟是自己在大学唯一曾经热血过熬夜过的活动。
当然，每次看后都会有 comment，当然会拿跟历届大摇比。
如果有兴趣，大家可以客观的看看，不要太在意，毕竟只是个人意见。

大摇 2015 (not troll)
又是大摇的季节啦。
今年的大摇坐落在假期的最后一天。讲真的我还很担心会因为假期而冷场，因为上次校创还蛮少人的。不过后来我到达 KPS，哇塞居然满座啊啊啊啊啊。
其实 hor，我每年看完大摇就会在这个部落格写下对大摇的感言和 comment ，而且都纯属我个人意见。可是今年大摇结束后我就和其他 seniorssss 一起喝茶讨论一些些，问问他们的意见，所以这次的意见是来自至少七个 seniors 的。
还有还有，我当天其实刚刚从刁曼岛回来 -- 早上的渡轮迟到两个小时，然后还因为退潮而必须在码头两公里以外等小船来载我们到码头，然后还要驾车五个小时，到了吉隆坡立刻背着背包到 DTC 看大摇，进场时唯一的印象就是看到几个人高喊：还我苍井空................ 【awkward moment】所以前面所发生的一切我不便 comment。

大摇 2014
话说，今年不拍照了。乖乖坐在观众席看秀。
对，连照都不拍了。把相机递给四个小鸟，结果他们联合拍了五千多张照片。
五千，5000, lima ribu, five thousand!!! 我拍大摇平均 150-300 张罢了，这些小鸟平均每个人 1000 多张耶。以下的照片全是小鸟拍的。

大摇 2012
佩雯写料，弥蒸写料，媛婷也写料，就轮到我啦。
首先，真的很佩服今年的筹委们。
因为大学入学期改了，学年日期统统喊吧烂改掉了，所以senior 留下的东西很多都不能用，一切日期，活动，筹募都必须重新策划过，就像刚开办大摇一样。而且现在大摇筹委都是摇篮手的，大家不分制作与非制作组，大家都要一起做筹募，做 booklet，做筹备，同时还要练歌，真的不简单。

截止 & Glad to Have You MV
I made these two music videos(MV) for Dayao 2011.
The first song is 截止, which literally means "expiry date". MV talks about a guy that set a 100-days period to wait for his girl, and walked away after that, and he missed something. Pretty touching video. The concept is good. The background music sucks big time, because some people told me the music made them cried whilst watching the video.
The second video, entitled "Glad to Have You" talks about the value of friendship. University life is the final phase of study, and for some, the last place to seek for true friends. There'd be, of course, argument at times, but none of us are perfect. Savor and appreciate friends around you.
The filming took place in the UM campus, was done by a one-man crew from MalcT32 Production, with simple gadgets and camera(Jocelyn Tan's and Ivy Har's Nikon D5000).
The reason I took up the role?
I like filming. I like video editing-though I ain't using premier pro cuz my laptop isn't up to the standard. I like to convey my view and ideas through short films with self-made music(both MV use self-composed song by Yuan Teng, Man Fee, Shi Neng and Cher Wei) and the best thing is that the music arrangement and recording were done by myself =D. Wish to thank the actress, Yuan Teng, Xin Le, and actors Man Fee, Shi Neng, and Cher Wei for their time and effort over the two-days we spent filming, and not forgetting the director, cameraman, video-editing crew, music arranger, and producer from MalcT32 Production; he is worth every cent paid. =P

大摇 2011--完美的句号
这是我最后一届的大摇，感触良多。
大摇是我在马大的日子里拿走我最多时间与精力的活动。虽然到现在我还是不能像弥蒸要求的，认为自己是属于摇篮手的一分子（我一直认为自己是大摇的，摇篮手立场活动与我无关）。但我在摇篮手所遇到的一群人是会在我脑海里逗留很久的人。

Microsoft Certification Exam & DaYao theme song 2010/2011
Fuh finally free to blog again.
I was busy during the past few days because I was preparing for a Microsoft Certification exam. The exam was held yesterday in UM, and of course I passed~ :-) (passing score:700/1000) now stop looking at me with that surprise look.
I took up Office Project 2007 module, and it was fun learning all the features of Project 2007. The fees are already paid for by the government (RM1300 ++) so it's free for us students to take the course. It's a shame most of us do not use this useful tool when handling projects in campus-it's convenient and quite useful really, I'll definitely use it next time at work. =)
But the exam wasn't easy. I studied until late night the day before yesterday and woke up early the next morning to revise again. And the day before yesterday was the Winter Solstice celebration for us Chinese, and being away from my family meant that I didn't get to eat the Tang Yuan-and I got emotional for a while over the matter-but eventually the thought of failing the exam the following morning got the better of me.
The test was conducted by Prometric(the same organization that conducts GRE test) and hell the procedure was so troublesome. The most scary thing is that the results will be revealed straight away after u click finish. I got into some trouble with the computer but luckily I managed to pass the test before the connection terminated.
By the way, after coming back from Malacca everyone is like so emotional about the camp. So I took some time off to arrange the theme song and compiled pictures of the camp.
Just to share:
Btw if you like the song, it's composed by the Chinese Music Composing Unit of University of Malaya-Yao Lan Shou as the theme song for Dayao 2010/2011.

大摇问题多多。。
有时候呢，人看不到未来就是一个问题。
有时候呢，人太有自信也是一个问题。
有时候呢，人太没自信也成为一个问题。
看不到未来，就不知道前面的墙壁有多硬。自信的往前冲，撞破了头，流了血，狼狈的时候才知道做什么事之前要问问senior 的意见~才知道原来以前senior 也有想过同样的东西，而且行不通。

校创 2010

得到了最佳编曲~可惜没能拿到前三名。
我还有帮人弹两首歌，可是都没拿到什么，所以就不在此现丑吧。

不知不觉就到了最后一年。明年的我就孤零零的看校创咯。弥蒸和佩雯都毕业了去做律师和会计师，我如果读 MASTERS 也不会再活跃于摇篮手活动了吧。
校创过了，剩下的就只有大摇了。今年大摇应该是我生涯最后一次上台，但我也不多求了。上台或不上台都无所谓，反正我第一年时也错过了上台的机会，而且如果又让我编中国风，又没有凤凰的琵琶和 Lay Cheu 的萧，非常不方便。可是看到大摇乐手如此少，还 blur blur 样，根本不能够放心。我当时收了二十三个乐手，留下四个，去年收三个新乐手，留下一个。前年祥熙收不知多少个，一个都没留下。看来乐手真的是变成了稀有动物。
而且commitment 又是另外一个问题。乐手多，commitment低也没用。乐手少得可怜，commitment 再高也会累垮。所以这些东西需要一个平衡点。还有，组长有心就必须感染组员，让他们在第一年就对大摇有归属感，这样他们才不会轻易的放弃大摇。当年的我还在技术组的时候就是被当时的组长，Yong Li 留下。他让我们做multimedia，还有拍摄 MV，我们组员之间也建立了相当的关系，所以愿意一大群留下：我，清胜，伟生，Ken Fai。。
技术组一直都拥有良好的“留下组员”记录，在我前一年就有柳生，Mun Chee， Yong Li，等等。。可是在我后一年就慢慢的没有了。留下组员是非常重要的，因为他们曾经是大摇的一分子，已拥有相当的经验，对大摇的运作也比常人懂得多，所以办起事来不必拖拖拉拉，还要劳烦前组长来长篇大论一番。
现在的我，虽然还是对大摇的某些事物不爽，但是我不得不承认我对音乐的热爱因大摇而有所增长。大摇令我有机会与其他乐手合作，给我编曲的机会，让我更加认识乐器，能见识到其他大专乐手的利害。如果没做大摇乐手，我根本还是以前的我，没有一个平台来给我表现我自己--还是孤零零的一个人背着吉他流浪天涯来弹给自己听。
啊不好意思，从校创说到大摇pulak。。今年校创有点乱，但整体还是可圈可点。最重要是junior 开心，有学习到东西，因为他们在大摇将会用到至今在校创所学到的东西。开心是让他们有归属感。犯错的就把它当作一个学习，就像当晚的multimedia 。。小鸟们加油~~

Distress...unpredictable ending
Firstly, I would like to express my displeasure in an utmost polite way...
WHAT THE 法克！！！！
看了MIZEN 的 “如果你爱的不是我” Video， 我的心烧了起来，不是因为被感动，相反的，我差点把电脑丢下楼了。
这么好的开局，不错的 reintro，接着到 bridge，然后可怕的地方。。。我听了简直发狂，气到。。。。。。马德发克。。

Sign.. then I told this to a friend, and yea.. perhaps it was my own mistake at the first place.. Moreover it's in the past, unless I could move faster than light I can do nothing about that mistake anymore.. Although many people told me that song was one of the best of the night, I could not help but to dismiss it as random, supportive comment. I would like to stop here, to prevent further dejection..
Anyway there was an earthquake in Taiwan recently(4th March 2010), magnitude 6.2, and there was another one yesterday (8th March 2010) in Turkey, magnitude 6.0. Geologists say that we have earthquakes all over the world everyday, but this year 2010, we have quite a number of dangerous earthquakes(magnitude 6.0 and above), and the most significant is the 8.8 earthquake of Chile, and also the 7.0 earthquake that devastated Haiti.. No doubt, earthquake is a major problem for earthlings, and it is even more deadly in poor countries like Haiti, African countries, Asian countries, etc. The earthquake that struck Gao Xiong, Taiwan was only 6.2, and there were only a few casualties, compared to several thousands who died in Haiti, and the 2004 earthquake in Indonesia. This, maybe due to the nature of Taiwan, having experienced the worst of earthquakes ever since its' first kingdom several centuries back, and the buildings are all earthquake-proof, and strict regulations are to be followed if you want to build something upon an earthquake zone. Japan is another example. The Kobe earthquake (forgotten the date) uprooted the roads and highways in Kobe, Japan, and although they were well prepared, there were still casualties reported.

We can never underestimate the power of Mother Nature. We took so much from her, and when the time comes, She unleashes Her fury(much more like seeking for vengeance) and upend whatever we painstakingly built. It is so simple. She shakes Her head, and we, much like small termites living on her head, crumbling to the ground with our "termite mounds".. Human is so pathetic... we are so powerful against wild animals, we conquered the oceans, the deserts, the deepest and densest forests of the Amazon, and the Artic, and planted our "fabric" on the Moon, yet we could not foresee the coming of an earthquake.
So the question is; what causes earthquake? That's very simple. So we move on to the next
What happens before an earthquake? Well geologists have no idea..zoologists say that the animals will become restless (perhaps they're about to pee?? XD)

Ahh....busted.. A dead cow, killed by the earthquake in Turkey, evidence that it cant foresee the earthquake. Probably it did but it didn't bother to walk out of the barn, away from delicious grass within. It died due to:-neglecting its instinct, and gluttony XD

Anyway, I read Newsweek yesterday and saw some interesting articles.. regarding the Obama administration that attracts more negative feedback that positive ones. Read it yourself :P and...I have been reading other blogs for the past few days, and realising that perhaps I should emulate their SSS (Syok-Sendiri Syndrom) and talk more about myself, my act, my feeling, my this, my that, less formal stuff, less informative stuff cuz those shits repel readers. Well at the end of the day I decided not to. I don't need avid readers, I will read this on my own, someday when I'm busy out there working, I could just log on and see what I thought when I was wild and free. This is the real reason behind me writing all these shits. Oh yea.. then I cannot write names because bad memories are meant to be forgotten :P

Read it yourself :P and...I have been reading other blogs for the past few days, and realising that perhaps I should emulate their SSS (Syok-Sendiri Syndrom) and talk more about myself, my act, my feeling, my this, my that, less formal stuff, less informative stuff cuz those shits repel readers. Well at the end of the day I decided not to. I don't need avid readers, I will read this on my own, someday when I'm busy out there working, I could just log on and see what I thought when I was wild and free. This is the real reason behind me writing all these shits. Oh yea.. then I cannot write names because bad memories are meant to be forgotten :P

马大-大摇 24/2/2010
Dayao happened on the 24/2/2010, and ended on the same night. (lame I know)
Anyway,
Took me several weeks' work to complete the 3 songs, and it ended within few minutes. That's probably the saddest thing in life.. severe preparation ended with complacency within the audience, but that didn't happen really.
第一首歌：手
对这首歌还蛮满意的。 但是听说ALEX 有弹错一些些， 造成了小小的遗憾。 歌手的演出很不错。 鼓手也没忘记东西， 所以我给这首歌打个6。5分。
第二首歌：断剑
我对这首歌抱着很大的期望，可能是因为对去年的中国风非常不满，所以今年带着一个一雪前耻的心态来编这首歌。
音乐一开始我就听到钢琴慢了，贝斯也慢了。 有点不爽。。但是后面就慢慢的进入应有的感情，让整首歌生动了起来。
到升KEY的地方，琵琶有点问题，但是我没听清楚，然后歌手也唱得非常好，弥蒸(抱歉没有你名字的ZHENG)RAP的也不错，最后观众的反应还不错，所以我也不追究了，打个8。5分吧！
第三首歌：如果你爱的不是我
这首歌也蛮好的，没出状况，歌手稳扎稳打，鼓手打得好，钢琴也OK，只有贝斯在后面弹漏了一些。。观众的反应热烈，只可惜这首歌放太尾了，很多观众都离席了，不然他们就可以听到如此动听的歌曲。 打个9。0分吧。
所以这次的大摇我给自己编的歌打了8。0分。 但是ALEX的歌我就不方便给予评论了。。因为我个人是觉得他编曲的方式与我的非常不同，玩法也不同。他比较属于SOLO乐手，我就比较SUPPORTIVE乐手。
今年大摇开幕GIMMICK非常有创意，是一架IPOD！

今年的大摇，我所背负的压力不多，但是看到JUNIOR们这么辛苦，令我想起了当年我一己之力背上乐手组长位子。。但是今年他们有三个乐手组长，所做出来的东西自然也比我的好。。所以今后必须要有至少两个组长，以便分轻负担。。
大摇画上了完美的句号，而我呢?明年还要不要再上台呢?那时一个非常头痛的问题。。。到时再看吧。。因为祥熙毕业了，我和弥弥还有一年，佩雯也毕业了。。唉。。。。我真的老了。。

Senior Junior
Had a decent talk with Siang Xi last nite~
Talked about song arranging(technical stuff), gossiping bout some ppl, talked about his future, and things are just right between us, just like mixing tea and milk producing excellent teh tarik
He plans to pursue a career in music, which is excellent, and he's planning 2-3 years ahead. If everything else fail, he will get back to teaching piano, and at the same time learning Jazz music. Anyway both of us agreed that some song makers are at times, annoying; i.e demanding this and that and giving us impractical solution. He's having hard time putting the theme song together, but I guess he should be able to deal with it anyway. Luckily I'm given only 3 songs, so yea haha :P
Anyway we also talked about the future of dayao, I can see that even the execs this year are still very dependent on us the seniors. Hmm... we are now merely members pal..we can offer our advice if u need us, but pls don't treat us like "hey where are this and that? Why are they not coming?"
well...I'm just another member of dayao now..how should I know? it's the band manager's job to get everyone to practice...
And also, there was someone who knocked one of the acoustic guitar at the bandroom yesterday and Clement isn't happy about it. It's a serious knock really, cuz the paint job was spoiled. And it was the senior i.e me who did the talking. Honestly I was kinda disappointed with the exec on duty because obviously they didn't care, like...it's none of their business. They worried more about the performance of the singers and their tutorial than their deteriorating relationship with the bandroom owner. It wasn't until I told them how serious the matter could turn out to be that they seemed worried.
Anyway, Siang Xi also got to brag about his keyboard Yamaha MO-6. It's an excellent keyboard really. And I got to brag about mine too Yamaha RGX 12125 :P Talked about some ppl who are proud, who improved a lot, who were unexpectedly good, etc... There are some juniors that surprised us this year, esp the drummer. We expect him to succeed the post of music exec (Jason are u reading this wuahahaha). He's mixing well with his bunch of frens, and "fren" is the main reason why we all chose to stay in dayao..
Other than that, there are also some junior musicians who failed to shine.. they are just..not good enough. And there are even some arrogant dudes who eventually got left out. I didn't know the whole story until last night hahaha~~
We talked crap until 2am, and yea.. he still amazes me although he's good. but he's lazy :P

Dayao preparation
Right.. So Dayao is 2 weeks away.
My songs are 60% done, and yea.. sense of accomplishment is blooming in me.
Firstly the Chinese song isn't bad, the other 2 are pop, so yea... pops are always simple.. and 1 thing with all my songs, they all involves modulation.. so I'm the u-must-find-him-if-u-wan-your-songs-to-be-modulated guy. Modulation is good, it creates a wave of excitement, a climax for a song. But given a chance, I wont desire to have a song modulated..
The singers are better than last year, in terms of attitude. This year I hear no more complaints about singers forgetting lyrics, but the quality of their voices really drops.
Musician wise, we are lacking of drummers, bassists, guitarists. Yet I guess things are just fine because everyone can play pop, even the lousy ones, so yea.. Pop songs are ok. Chinese style song, in my opinion, is better than any other songs in this Dayao, because it blends RnB and Chinese instruments, much like Jay. Some might say we're copying, well there are only 13 notes in a scale, and there are so many musicians in this world. Chances are that we might end up having the same 1st line or 2nd line. But luckily only my 1st line is the same as one of his songs.
Chinese new year is a week away, so everyone's pushing their limit during this final week to get their things done. As always, Siang Xi is late again. But I guess he still maintains his quality.
As for Jason's band, I wouldn't want to comment there in the bandroom, because I'm not in the position to do so (somehow, I will still say it here, this is my blog wat). I guess they are kinda over-ambitious... cuz they take 5 songs, and so far only 3 are done.. and they are doing heavy metal and instrumental. Hm... as a senior I would say it's not a wise move.. as they have no musical basic, trying to make a instrumental within 2 weeks from now?? Hm.. not that it's impossible, but it's very very difficult to make one that is nice. No offence, I ain't looking down upon your talent, you guys are talented people, BUT let's face it... talent can only you thus far.. Taking 5 songs with 1 instrumental.. Perhaps 3 songs would be a better choice don't you think so?
Perhaps dividing me and Alex would be a better choice, then we would have 4 bands. And since Alex is kinda good at doing instrumental then probably should leave it to him. But doing this would create another problem: lacking musicians.. well then you should blame the publicity bureau for failing to publicize the recruitment drive last year. I talked about this yet I didn't see anything being done. So I assume my advice is ignored, or heard-but-not-listened.
Anyway, wont blame you guys for ignoring me at the first place, cuz you all are inexperience in handling an organization this big.. so yeah.. learn it the hard way =)
